Ontario aligns itself with the federal express entry program in offering applicants an opportunity to apply under one of their own Express Entry streams for skilled workers. Applicants under the Ontario Express Entry stream must first qualify for one of two federal immigration programs (FSW or CEC).
After which, applicants may apply under one of two express entry streams:
Ontario Express Entry: Human Capital Priorities Stream
Work Experience: Minimum 1 year of continuous full-time employment (or equal part-time) paid work experience in a NOC 0,A,B occupation;
FSW: 1 year in 5
CEC: 1 year in 3
Education: ECA with a minimum equivalency of Canadian Bachelor’s, Master’s or Ph.D degree
Language: All applicants must have a language level of Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 7 or above in all language competencies (reading, writing, listening, and speaking) in either English or French.
CRS Score: minimum cut-off of 400 points during both the Ontario nomination processing stage and federal application processing stage.
